NSCC Library Information Technology program placements

Students graduating from the Library and Information Technology program (LIT) at NSCC are required to complete a 5 week practicum (April 30th – June 1st) before receiving their diploma. Students are evaluated on the following objectives by their practicum supervisor:

· Work well with other team members.
· Maintain a regular attendance in a punctual manner.
· Comply with the code of professional and ethical conduct required by the workforce or profession.
· Perform assigned tasks in a satisfactory manner.
· Follow instructions and perform job functions satisfactorily.
· Apply new concepts and skill appropriate for entry-level positions within the information management field.
· Organize tasks and take initiative when required to work on his/her own.

Each year we have several students express an interest in gaining experience within a records management environment, putting into practice what they have learned in their records management courses.
